Becky’s Bird’s Eye View
Better known as Becky Hammon, Rebecca Lynn Hammon is born on March 11, 1977, playing for the San Antonio Silver Stars as a Women's National Basketball Association player.
A Great Thing Who Started From A Small Beginning
Growing up as the youngest of three children, Becky has already played high school basketball at Stevens High School in her hometown of Rapid City, South Dakota. Skillful and alert as she was as a junior, Becky was named South Dakota Miss Basketball. Upon reaching her senior year, she was recognized as the South Dakota Player of the Year, after averaging 26 points, with 4 rebounds and 5 assists per game.
Playing For Keeps
Becky had kept pursuing her passion, playing basketball and with a distinguished career at Colorado State. Her impressive scoring gave her an All-American as well as Colorado Sportswoman of the Year. Leading her team to a 33-3 record in the 1998-1999 Season, helping them advance to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen, Becky is indeed remarkable. Becky earned more awards including the WAC Mountain Division Player of the Year for the 1998-1999 Season, becoming the WAC's all-time leading scorer, surpassing her rival, University of Utah player Keith Van Horn.
