Joanne was the first Australian skater and the second female skater in the world after the 1998 Olympic Champion, Tara Lipinski, to land the rare and difficult triple loop / triple loop combination in championship competition.
She was also the first Australian ladies' singles skater to land a triple lutz in national and championship competition, in both the short and long programs.
