| A student of the University of Southern California, Benko served as team captain of the 2000 and 2004 Olympic teams, and won three medals (two gold, one silver) at the 2003 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Spain, where she broke the American record in the 200m free. In 2005 she married Canadian swimmer Mike Mintenko. |
