Sarah Fisher is an American auto racing driver originally from Commercial Point, Ohio. As of 2007 she competes in the Indy Racing League (IRL) IndyCar Series for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. She became the first woman to win the pole in a major auto racing series in the Belterra Casino Indy 300 at Kentucky Speedway in 2002. She shares with Danica Patrick the best finish for a women in open-wheel racing, second place. Further, she is the fastest female driver to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 with a four-lap average of 229.439 mph.
Fisher also made history by being the first female driver in the 21st century to drive a Formula One car when testing in 2002.
Fisher became engaged to Andy O'Gara on her 25th birthday (October 4, 2005) and married at St. Roch Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Saturday, September 16th 2007, among those in attendance were Lyn St James, Ed Carpenter and Tony George, to name a few.
