Simona Amānar is a Romanian gymnast. A seven-time Olympic medalist, she is one of the most accomplished gymnasts in recent decades, as well as the Romanian team leader during the late 1990s and 2000.
This gymnast have won all kind of medals possible on her favourite event vault. Her brightest one is the Olympic Gold in 1996 on that event.
Since 1994 she represented Romania at the international gymnastics scene. She retired end of 2000 after a sucessfull Olympics. Officially she earned two gold medals, the Teammedal and the AllAroundmedal after her teammate Andreea Raducan was stripped of her gold.
