Sofia Arvidsson, aged 23 from Halmstad, has undergone an incredible development in recent years.
Last year her world ranking advanced by over 150 places, and she took the first WTA title in her career and the first for the Nordic countries since the days of Åsa Svensson.
In 2007 one of the challenges for Sofia will be to defend all her ranking points. Early in the year she won the doubles at the ITF tournament in St. Paul, continuing to the WTA quarterfinals in Memphis.
